20 representatives of the chemical industry – among others from BASF, Bayer, Evonik, Henkel, Lanxess, LyonellBasell, Styrolution – gathered on June 26 or a one-day workshop organized by execon partners and developed new approaches and best practices to improve their return-on-innovation (ROI).
After a keynote speech by Prof. Holger Ernst from WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management the breakdown groups discussed intensively the correct measurement of the ROI, both in relation to the classical product innovations, but also for other aspects of innovation such as process innovation, application innovation, and even business model innovation. Furthermore, the groups discussed concrete ways to properly incentivize successful innovation as well as the link between successful innovation and innovation culture. The feedback was very positive and therefore execon partners are planning a further workshop on this subject in 2016.
